Empfehlung: SLOW DOWN! FILMISCHE HINWENDUNGEN ZUR REDUKTION. Ausstellung im WUK
Am kommenden Mittwoch, dem 8.11.2017 eröffnet um 19h im Wiener WUK die sehenswerte Ausstellung zur gegenwärtigen künstlerischen Praxis mit einem vom Verschwinden bedrohten Format, dem ehemals in der unabhängigen FilmemacherInnenszene zentralen Produktionsmittel, dem analogen 16mm-Film. “Slow Down!” etabliert produktive Momente der künstlerischen Reduktion mit Film in Hinblick auf Filminstallationen, die aus dem zweidimensionalen der Leinwand heraustreten und den Raum, den Ausstellungsraum, für sich reklamieren. Mit Arbeiten von Helga Fanderl, Philipp Fleischmann, Rosa John, Björn Kämmerer, Johann Lurf, Susanne Miggitsch, Peter Miller, Sasha Pirker, Viktoria Schmid und Antoinette Zwirchmayr. Die Ausstellung ist bis zum 16.12.2017 in der Kunsthalle Exnergasse zu sehen. Nicht versäumen !
LATE BLOSSOM BLUES with ongoing success on festival-tour
The portrait of today 85 year old Blues guitarist and singer Leo “Bud” Welch, whose carreer startet when he became 81, sensitively and impressively put in scene by Wolfgang Pfoser-Almer and Stefan Wolner, can be seen these days at the Hofer Filmdays in Germany, at Florida’s Naples Film Festival and in a couple of weeks at the Mekka of Music-Documentaries, the Doc´n Roll-Festival in London. Watch out for it !
sixpackfilm - a tribute @ Close-up/London and The Cube/Bristol
We are very happy about the invitation of two thematic programs as a tribute to sixpackfilm at London’s Close-up-Cinema on oct 27th and at The Cube Cinema in Bristol on oct 28th & 29th. Viennale 2017
We are very happy that sixpackfilm will be represented again at the upcoming Viennale 2017 (19.10. – 2.11.2017) with a number of new films. Johann Lurf’s epic found-footage-film ★ will premiere as well as new works by Siegfried Fruhauf, Friedl vom Gröller, Elke Groen or O.N.L.S.D. beside new sixpack-artists like Sasha Reichstein and Bernhard Hetzenauer. Focus on Austria at Marienbad Film Festival
Located in the famous czech Spa City Marienbad, the first edition of the Marienbad Fim Festival will focus on recent austrian experimental film. In two programs within the Cinema Excelsior section one can see selected movies by Peter Tscherkassky, Rainer Kohlberger, Billy Roisz und Dieter Kovacic, Siegfried Fruhauf and many more. Karlovy Vary International Film Festival the wonderful documentary ATELIER DE CONVERSATION, directed by Bernhard Braunstein (AT, FR, LI 2017) was awarded with the Documentary Special Jury Price.
