EXPOSED – Films from Siegfried A. Fruhauf

Since his first relevant film, which he completed at the age of 22, Siegfried A. Fruhauf has been represented at all major international festivals - including Cannes and Venice - and has received numerous awards. The titles of his films and videos illustrate his interest in the elementary building blocks of cinematography. With his metric montage concepts and ecstatic acceleration to the limits of the material, he is part of the tradition of structural film. Moreover, for Fruhauf, cinema is also a place of voyeuristic desire and discovery, and accordingly he presents or withdraws his fetishized object from the viewer with relish. (Brigitta Burger-Utzer)
