Recordings from the basement
Recordings from the basement is based on material that Peter Haindl recorded of himself in his flat between 1993 and 1999 and handed over to the filmmaker Rainer Frimmel. These are eloquent testimonies of a man, which he addresses to an imaginary audience in various self-presentations, for posterity, so to speak. From a contemporary perspective, the monologues and confessions, which also contain exuberant attacks on women and strangers, are not only reminiscent of Qualtinger's "Herr Karl", but also of forms of presentation in social networks, but also show facets of the blatant expression of opinion - (hate) postings - which serve as a catalyser and multiplier of the ego.
