Edith Stauber conjures up an ironic commentary on the passing of time from banal phenomena and events in her animation laboratory - her own flat - without spectacle but full of visual and tonal experiences. The landscape and routine of the old woman in a small town on Lanzarote seem to have fallen out of time thanks to the self-developed film material in Neither God Nor Santa Maria. Tim Sharp creates a documentary miniature when he films the street and the people from the terrace of a hotel in Gondor, Ethiopia. The portrait Hilda is a monument to a freedom-loving woman and her self-determined life as a farmer in Lower Austria. (bbu)
