Migration forms

Migration is the project of the future, states Borjana Ventzislavova in her short film Migration Standards, in which she has children and young people perform in a spatial in-between zone. The work is characterized by a refreshingly modern approach to this topic.

Ascan Breuer accompanies his wife Ariana in Tehran - Lost & Found, whose family emigrated from Iran before the Islamic Revolution in 1979. As a member of the second generation, her perspective is that of a researcher who relates a family story to contemporary everyday life in Tehran.

SUBVERSES China in Mozambique approaches the subject of migration from a post-colonial perspective, but without leaving out its fractures. Ella Raidel shows a largely unknown aspect of a migration story: Chinese companies often build Mozambique's infrastructure with the support of European banks. In contrast to the global history of capitalism are the dazzling slam poets of Maputo, who represent their attitude in impressive chants. (Dietmar Schwärzler)
