What better title for a One-Woman-Show by Sabine Marte in the cinema than the song of the same name by Laurie Andersen, the great American musician, performer and video artist? With her music, Sabine Marte serves a different stage as a member of the band pendler. performance and the possibilities of the medium of video are combined in her early video pieces and the award-winning b-star, untötbar! usually with her own "talking head" at the center. Language as a means of expression, but also as a carrier of social meaning, constriction and codification, is Marte's most important material. She playfully attacks the virus, exaggerates, rhythmizes and invents her own artistic language that always reflects the medium. Grotesque facial expressions, distorting shooting angles, trashy presentation and aesthetics reinforce the liberating effect. (Brigitta Burger-Utzer)
