Simona Obholzer lives and works as a visual artist and filmmaker in Vienna. Her artistic practice engages with questions of visual perception, exploring through moving image and serial graphic formats how the gaze can activate bodily and sensory processes.
She completed the School for Artistic Photography Friedl Kubelka and studied Video and Video Installation at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, as well as at the Glasgow School of Art.
Her work has been recognized with numerous grants and awards and is presented internationally at film festivals and in exhibitions.

Simona Obholzer is a founding member of The Golden Pixel Cooperative, an association for moving images, art and media.
