Dynamic Particles In Motion

Filmgrain, Light, Water, Sand, Fire - as Dynamic Particles In Motion.

The impulse to produce this work arose from the opportunity to film a traditional folk dance in my home village in Spain from a rooftop. The dance is performed amid a shower of sparks and fireworks. However, since the film stock used had a sensitivity of only ISO 50, the film does not show the event itself, but rather an abstract version of it: golden sparks on a black background. The dancing crowds below remain invisible.

As the title of the film suggests, film is reduced to its bare minimum here: dynamic particles set into motion. The film shows the transformation of these dynamic particles in motion, both on a macroscopic and microscopic level. (Director's Statement)
