Three heavy-set men of advanced age are talking in a living room.
When a young, pretty, visibly pregnant woman enters unexpectedly, the mood changes immediately.
Josephine light-heartedly enjoys her pregnancy and the attention of the men, who seem to be in restrained rivalry with each other.
The film style is characterized by the imperfect. Different bellies continue to compete against each other. A lily is presented to Mary/Josephine as in Annunciation scenes.
The following nursery rhyme
"Emperor, king, nobleman, burgher, peasant, beggar, cobbler, tailor, linen weaver -
and finally the gravedigger", was the godfather.
