A video which exudes a great deal of freshness, all of it in yellow/ black/white and possessing the flair of a research project, an undertaking which seems to demonstrate unfamiliarity with both conventions and norms, not to mention fashions. Occupied primarily with itself and all attention concentrated on it - how the setting will develop itself - a dance of symbols and sounds, refreshingly unintentional and without any kind of obligation to arrive at a predefined aesthetic goal. And to the
extent that familiar paths are avoided, a fascinating dialogue between sounds and images is in a sense born of itself, from the material. Breaches and turns are able to truly surprise the viewer, and the metamorphoses begin to tell abstract stories that easily progress from one to the next.
Shifts in the axes of movement permit the antipodes of the visual action (i.e. intention/initial situation) to shine through again and again; at times the two yellow lines from the beginning reappear - though in greatly distorted form - then a grid of circles is suggested, and the amplitude is pushed farther out: an almost homogenous, fluorescing yellow surface, for brief moments even "interference-free"; the sound stops as if it were unrelated to the images, though elsewhere it clearly seems to initiate the visual action. In this work dieb13 and billy roisz reached one of the outer limits of the barely imaginable (for an aesthetic
product) - without ulterior motives, without any sort of attempt at conformity, to anything whatsoever.
